Michael Plasha E-RYT 500, YACEP, RPYT
I directed a successful yoga studio in Erie, PA for over 25 years that won several “best of” awards. I was ready for warmer weather and new opportunities. My wife and I fell in love with Savannah and our family will be residing with you in June! Here’s what I bring to you even now with Zoom. I have taught over 14,000 classes. That’s over 20,000 hours of teaching experience! I have learned a lot from my students including how to make these ancient practices accessible to all regardless of physical conditions. I have given over 1,000 private lessons including adapting yoga for Back Pain, MS, Parkinson’s, Heart Conditions, Fibromyalgia, Cancer, Addiction, Trauma and several other chronic conditions. My work with a hospital based rehabilitation program for patients recovering from back and hip surgery was highlighted in Yoga Journal.
I craft private lessons and private group classes based on needs and interests. Group classes are a mix of alignment focused Hatha and Vinyasa with options to adapt the forms to your body. Mindfulness and restorative yoga is deeply relaxing and healing. You do need props for those classes like bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps. Gentle chair yoga is also offered. The science of Ayurveda informs what is best to bring your body-type into perfect balance.
I am certified in Ayurveda and Yoga, Yoga for the Heart for heart disease and cancer, and Prenatal Yoga.
My experience is in addition to over 1,000 hours of training from the Integral Yoga Institute, the American Institute of Vedic Studies, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Kripalu, and Viniyoga schools. I have presented at Yoga Alliance and Integral Yoga teachers
I am also a Mindfulness and Stress Management Consultant and my clients include Fortune 500 companies, non-profits and school districts. My meditation and yoga trainings have been approved by NASW.
